Liebfrauen Bottrop Community Festival

The 2025 edition took place shortly before and after the official parish fusion and underscored the independence of the Liebfrauen sub-community within the new large pastoral area of St. Cyriakus. Bottrop-Eigen, the district around the Liebfrauenkirche, once again presented itself as a vibrant neighborhood with active associations, dedicated volunteers, and a parish council that takes responsibility despite the structural reform. The two-day format, with the festival opening on Saturday and the festive service and morning pint (Frühschoppen) on Sunday, was confirmed in 2025 and continued unchanged for 2026. Volunteers from parish groups — KFD, altar servers, church choir, Caritas circle — formed the organizational backbone.
