Overview
The 24th edition of the Familienrenntag was once again a crowd-puller in the Lichtenberg district. The opening was at 12 PM by District Mayor Martin Schaefer, after which the full program of trotting races, children's area, and flea market started in parallel.
Local clubs and choirs performed on stage, the Berlin Police offered free bicycle marking until 4 PM, and the children's area featured a bouncy castle, archery, pony rides, and carriage rides, as well as storytelling and face painting. The flea market in the infield was fully booked — registrations were, as every year, via email to the district office.
Sportingly, several trotting races with guaranteed payouts were on the program, and the betting counter was open even for betting novices. The event concluded as planned around 5 PM after the last race.
