Overview

The Leisnig Castle and Old Town Festival 2025 combined a historic citizens' festival, castle backdrop, and «Nacht der Schlösser» into an atmospheric weekend in Mittelsachsen on the last weekend of August. On Sunday, Mildenstein Castle opened its gates from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. with free admission.

The 2025 edition followed the proven concept: craftspeople's alley between Kirchplatz and Burglehn, main stage at the market, rides at Lindenplatz, medieval demonstrations, and show fights. The joint castle visit on Sunday with free admission attracted many families from the Mulde Valley.

In 2025, Mildenstein Castle and the city of Leisnig again worked closely together to integrate the citizens' festival with a high-quality castle program — a combination that makes the Leisnig festival unique in Mittelsachsen.
