Practical information — Leiderer Kerb
When Leider celebrates its Kerb, there's no stopping the town: The Leiderer Kerb — the Laurentiusfest — is one of the most traditional Kirchweih (church consecration festival) celebrations in the Bavarian Lower Main region and attracts visitors from all over the area for four days. It is celebrated around the patron saint St. Lawrence, whose feast day gives the festival its name.
The program follows the tried-and-tested Franconian-Lower Franconian Kerb tradition: The Kerbborscht (festival youths) erect the Kerbbaum (festival maypole) and lead the festival, the beer tapping officially opens the festival tent, and live bands ensure a lively party atmosphere every evening. During the day, traditional morning pint gatherings (Frühschoppen), a Kerb church service, and socialising are part of the festivities. Admission is free on all festival days.
Note on classification: The festival is listed in the municipal directory under Leidersbach (Miltenberg district). In reality, the Leiderer Kerb takes place in the district of Leider, which is part of the independent city of Aschaffenburg — 'Leider' (district of Aschaffenburg) and 'Leidersbach' (municipality in the Miltenberg district) are two different places. This entry is kept under Leidersbach with this note. In 2026, the Laurentiusfest will celebrate its 50th edition.
