Getting There
Weyhe-Leeste, south of Bremen, easily accessible by bicycle and public transport.
A Tradition Since the 1980s
The Leester Fahrradrallye is one of the oldest community events in the municipality of Weyhe. What began as a small promotional event for local businesspeople has developed into one of the largest family cycling events in the region. Hundreds of participants cycle through Leeste and the surrounding districts every year to collect stamps and take part in the prize draw.
Stamp and Collect
The concept is simple and popular: participating businesses in and around Leeste distribute stamps on the participants' rally cards. Those who collect all or enough stamps qualify for the afternoon prize draw. In this way, the rally combines physical activity, getting to know local businesses, and a social component.
Family-Friendly Format
The rally is deliberately designed to be family-friendly. The route is flat, and the distances between stations are short, so children can easily participate. Many families use the rally as a shared Sunday outing.
Commitment of the Business Association
Behind the rally is the Leester Werbegemeinschaft, which has been organizing the event on a voluntary basis for decades. Around 40 businesses participate each year and sponsor prizes for the draw. The rally thus strengthens not only the sense of community but also the local economy.
