Overview

The Lausitz Festival 2025 also featured numerous concerts in the castles, industrial sites, and churches of Lusatia — Altdöbern Castle was a regular venue for the festival. Since its founding in 2020, the Lausitz Festival has been Brandenburg's most distinguished art festival. Organizer: Lausitz Festival gGmbH.

The 2025 edition continued the tradition established in the early years: concerts in castles and industrial sites in Lusatia, a program spanning classical, contemporary music, theater, and visual arts. The festival has established itself as a model project for structural change and cultural revitalization in Lusatia.

Altdöbern Castle, the former Plessa power plant, Branitz Castle in Cottbus, and many other historical and industrial buildings in Lusatia serve as venues for the festival — an appropriation of the local context that makes the Lausitz Festival unique.
