The 2026 edition, marking the 54th, is another chapter in a festival tradition that holds a firm place in the summer calendar for the entire region. Posters and advance announcements are already available on the club's website.
Celebration, Fish, and Fireworks
The motto "Celebration, Fish, and Fireworks" describes the three central pillars of the festival:
- Celebration: Four days of festivities with live music, DJ sets, a festival tent, and dancing by the water. Bands from the region play cover songs, Schlager, pop, and rock; the DJ takes over in the late hours.
- Fish: The culinary heart. Freshly grilled trout, salmon, fried fish, smoked fish, and fish specialties from local waters, prepared by experienced club members. Alongside these, Palatinate specialties like Bratwurst, Saumagen, and Flammkuchen, as well as Palatinate wine and beer.
- Fireworks: Spectacular fireworks over the Nachtweide lake as the highlight of the festival – the light reflections on the water make the spectacle particularly impressive.
The Lambsheim Angling Club
The SAV Lambsheim e.V. is one of the oldest angling clubs in the region. The club not only maintains the Nachtweide lake as a fishing area but is also involved in nature conservation, water management, and youth work. The Fishermen's Festival is the club's main source of income; the proceeds flow into club activities, water protection, and social projects.
Lambsheim and the Nachtweide Lake
Lambsheim is a municipality in the Rhein-Pfalz district with around 6,200 inhabitants, located between Frankenthal and Bad Dürkheim. The Nachtweide lake on the outskirts is a typical floodplain body of water in the Rhine Valley, created by gravel extraction. Today, it is a habitat for numerous bird and fish species and popular with anglers, walkers, and those seeking recreation.
