Tuning and Motorsport Festival at Lausitzring
For years, the L8 Night has been among Europe's most important tuning events. The venue is the DEKRA Lausitzring in Klettwitz (municipality of Schipkau, district of Oberspreewald-Lausitz) in southern Brandenburg, one of Germany's largest motorsport facilities. Over the weekend, the entire grounds transform into a mix of car festival, drag strip, and show stage.
Show & Shine and Quarter Mile
The centerpiece is the Show & Shine Contest featuring over 1,000 selected tuning vehicles from all over Europe. On the drag strip, high-performance cars compete in quarter-mile races with up to 5,000 hp. In parallel, track sessions open the Lausitzring's Grand Prix circuit for track days and exhibition runs.
Motorsport Legends Live
A hallmark of the L8 Night is the appearance of true motorsport legends: vehicles from DTM, NASCAR, and the 24 Hours of Le Mans race around the Lausitzring, giving fans opportunities to meet teams and drivers. Additionally, there's an extensive Dealer Area with all major brands from the tuning industry.
Founders' Concept
Steve Gregorius and Manuel Meinel conceived the L8 Night with the ambition to bring "performance and aesthetics into harmony." Instead of focusing solely on static shows or pure racing, the event aims to merge both worlds into a holistic experience. The response from the international tuning scene validates the concept: participants and visitors travel from all over Europe to Brandenburg.
Brandenburg's Motorsport Heritage
The DEKRA Lausitzring, built on reclaimed opencast lignite mining land, has been the motorsport flagship of the Lausitz region for years. With DTM, the European Truck Racing Championship, and events like the L8 Night, the track has become a fixture on Germany's motorsport map – and a tourist magnet for southern Brandenburg.
