About KunstWerk Stelle 2026

KunstWerk Stelle is an established cultural initiative in the municipality of Stelle, in the southwestern district of Harburg. In 2026, on Saturday, June 20th, and Sunday, June 21st, KunstWerk will present the project 'Neue Wege – Rückkehr zu den Ursprüngen' (New Paths – Return to Origins), which was awarded the Kultursommerpreis 2026 by the Harburg district. The project implements the half-year motto 'Neue Wege' (New Paths) with a special twist: the new paths lead back to the origins – to the roots of artistic creation, to archaic materials, to elementary forms, to reduced forms of expression. Two festival days with exhibitions, workshops, artist talks, and activities will shape the weekend at KunstWerk Stelle. Admission is free or at moderate prices. The organizer is KunstWerk Stelle in cooperation with the Harburg district.

KunstWerk Stelle as a Regional Cultural Institution

KunstWerk Stelle is a cultural initiative in the southwestern Harburg district dedicated to promoting fine arts, crafts, and cultural exchange. With exhibitions, workshops, and events, KunstWerk shapes the cultural life of Stelle and the region.

Two Festival Days on June 20th and 21st, 2026

Saturday and Sunday form the festival framework. The project uses the summer weekend for intensive artistic encounters, with an exhibition opening on Saturday and an all-day program on Sunday.

Return to Origins

The project's subtitle is programmatic: Return to Origins. In an era where digital media and new technologies are transforming artistic practice, the participating artists consciously return to elementary materials, manual work, and archaic forms. Clay, wood, stone, natural pigments, paper – the materials of our ancestors are rediscovered and translated into contemporary language.

Exhibitions, Workshops, Artist Talks

The program includes exhibitions of works by the participating artists, practical workshops where visitors can work with archaic materials themselves, and artist talks discussing the conceptual backgrounds. The combination of exhibition, encounter, and personal practice defines the project's special character.

Kultursommerpreis 2026

The award of the Kultursommerpreis 2026 recognizes the innovative concept of KunstWerk. The motto 'Neue Wege' (New Paths) is implemented in a paradoxical way: through the return to origins, through the rediscovery of what lay before modernity, and through its translation into contemporary artistic language.

KunstWerk Stelle 2026 — edition 2026

On Saturday, June 20th, and Sunday, June 21st, 2026, KunstWerk Stelle will host the Kultursommer project 'Neue Wege – Rückkehr zu den Ursprüngen' (New Paths – Return to Origins). Two festival days featuring exhibitions, workshops with archaic materials (clay, wood, stone, natural pigments), artist talks, and activities will shape the weekend. The project implements the Kultursommer motto 'Neue Wege' (New Paths) through a paradoxical twist: the new paths lead back to the origins of artistic creation, to elementary materials, and reduced forms. Admission is free or at moderate prices. The project is one of ten Kultursommerpreis 2026 projects from the Harburg district. The exact program for 2026, including participating artists and workshop content, will be published by KunstWerk in early summer.

The 2026 edition is a special Kultursommer event with a conceptual focus. The 'Return to Origins' is not a nostalgic program but an artistic position that gains relevance in the digital age.

The workshops offer visitors the opportunity to experiment with archaic materials themselves, thereby practically understanding the conceptual position of the participating artists.
