Overview

The Kulturinsel Wöhrmühle 2025 once again transformed the small river island in the Regnitz into an open-air stage for two weeks. The summer open-air event of E-Werk Erlangen ran from mid to late July and, as every year, offered a mix of international indie acts, the German singer-songwriter scene, Bavarian music, and a classical-jazz opening by the Gemeinnütziger Verein Erlangen.

The 2025 edition continued the long-standing tradition: two weeks of festival operations in a row, eleven to twelve concert evenings, a colorful mix of genres, and a participatory sing-along format to round things off. E-Werk Erlangen once again provided the stage, catering, and professional event logistics, while the Gemeinnütziger Verein Erlangen complemented it with classical and jazz at the start.

The Wöhrmühle island, with its tranquil location between the arms of the Regnitz, just ten minutes from the main train station, once again proved to be one of the most beautiful festival locations in Middle Franconia. In 2025, the event was again family-friendly (children aged 4 and over allowed with accompaniment), sustainability-oriented (recommendation for public transport), and indispensable for Erlangen's summer culture.
