Overview

The 33rd Kulturarena Jena took place again over seven weeks in the summer of 2025 on the theatre forecourt. With over 50 events in music, theatre, classical music, open-air cinema, and children's programming, the festival reaffirmed its position as Thuringia's largest summer open-air event. Around 70,000 visitors experienced the programme.

2025 Edition

The 33rd edition in 2025 continued the established concept: seven weeks of open air on the theatre forecourt, over 50 events, five programme strands (concerts, films, theatre, classical overtures, children's programme). Without VIP areas, without reserved grandstands, and with a deliberately accessible pricing policy, the festival remained true to its founding idea from 1992. Artists from all over the world performed in the university city, from pop acts to jazz and world music ensembles. Around 70,000 visitors, plus numerous guests who followed the festival from the adjacent city area, shaped the festival summer of 2025.
