Overview
The 35th edition of the KUKAKÖ Rose Monday parade wound its way through Köthen's city centre amidst changeable spring weather. As every year, over 100 floats and walking groups participated, and the market square filled up in the afternoon for a lively open-air spectacle. MDR broadcast selected programme items live.
The 35th KUKAKÖ Rose Monday celebration in Köthen once again confirmed the Bach town's reputation as the carnival stronghold of Saxony-Anhalt. Over 100 floats, dance groups, and music bands paraded through the city centre, followed by thousands of costumed visitors. On the market square, the stage programme ran from 1 PM into the evening. The Minister-President of the state of Saxony-Anhalt, as is traditional, was among the revellers.
