Overview

The premiere of the Kronau Village Festival International took place in 2025. The municipality of Kronau in the Karlsruhe district organized the new format with around 12 local clubs – keg tapping on Saturday, morning pint (Frühschoppen) on Sunday, flea market, children's program, and international cuisine. The positive response has solidified the format for the second edition in 2026.

First Edition 2025 – The Kick-off

The premiere of the Village Festival International was a venture for the municipality of Kronau: a new format without a historical anchor, relying on club diversity and culinary internationality rather than an established tradition. The response was positive: several hundred visitors attended, the club stands were sold out on Saturday evening, and Sunday, with its morning pint (Frühschoppen) and Sunday shopping, cleverly combined the village festival with the local businesses' shopping day.

Based on this success, the municipality, with Mayor Frank Burkard, has continued the second edition in 2026 in practically the same format – a conscious consolidation of the format before considering expansions. The Village Festival International is thus one of the younger but established festivals in the calendar of the Karlsruhe district.
