Edition 2025 — KRONACH leuchtet
KRONACH leuchtet 2025 continued the tradition of the Upper Franconian light art festival, transforming the medieval town center into a walkable light gallery once again. International and national artists illuminated squares, courtyards, and park areas – a non-commercial, volunteer-run festival that attracts several tens of thousands of visitors to the Lucas Cranach town each year.
Light Art in the Cranach Town
In 2025, KRONACH leuchtet once again offered its audience a journey through contemporary light art spread over several festival nights. The main venues, as in previous years, were the historic town center with its squares and courtyards, as well as the Landesgartenschaupark in the south of Kronach.
Volunteerism as a Pillar
The festival has been organized by volunteers since its inception. Sponsors, municipal funding, and a dedicated team of helpers make its annual realization possible. KRONACH leuchtet sees itself as the Cranach town's contemporary response to its own art history.
