Brass Music at the Foot of the Kreuzberg

The Kreismusikfest Haselbach is organized by the Haselbach Music, Singing, and Traditional Costume Association in Bischofsheim in der Rhön (Rhön-Grabfeld district, state of Bavaria). Haselbach is one of Bischofsheim's five districts and is located at the foot of the 928-meter-high Kreuzberg, in the heart of the Bavarian Rhön. The festival is part of the Rhön-Grabfeld district association of the North Bavarian Music Association (NBMB).

Three Days of Brass Music, Traditional Costumes, and Sociability

The Kreismusikfest is one of the district association's most important brass music events. Over three days, music bands from the entire Rhön-Grabfeld region present their own concerts in the festival tent; competition performances are also offered in some cases, where bands can have their quality assessed. The highlight is the grand torchlight procession and festival parade on Sunday, where participating associations march through Haselbach in traditional costume.

Traditional Costume Association as Organizer

Unlike music associations that are purely musical, the Haselbach host band unites music, singing, and traditional costume preservation under one roof. The members perform in the typical costume of the Rhöner Trachtenkapelle, where the costume and local pride play a special role alongside the music. This connection gives the Kreismusikfest a particularly authentic Franconian character.

Rhön Delicacies and Festival Tent

Classic Rhön specialties are served in the festival tent: Bratwürste, Schäuferla, Rhöner Bauernsalat, pastries, and beer from regional breweries. The atmosphere during the festival week is shaped by both musicians and club members.
