Overview

The 2nd District Harvest Festival Oberspreewald-Lausitz took place in 2025 in another municipality of the district — as an annual alternating Erntedank-Volksfest (Harvest Thanksgiving folk festival) of the OSL district. Classic programme with open farms, experiential agriculture, regional specialities, and a parade on Sunday. Afterwards, the Vetschau municipality of Ogrosen took over the preparation for the 2026 edition.

District Harvest Festival 2025 in Retrospect

The 2nd District Harvest Festival of the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district took place in September 2025 as the second edition of the format launched in 2024. Afterwards, the host municipality symbolically handed over to Ogrosen, which prepared the 2026 edition during 2025/26.

As is customary for this Harvest Thanksgiving folk festival held in rotation across the district, the focus in 2025 was on the connection between agriculture, village community, and the tradition of harvest thanksgiving. Open farms, experiential stations, a parade on Sunday, and the decoration of the festival site with harvest crowns characterized the programme.
