Summer wine party by WG Mayschoß in the historic Kloster Marienthal in Walporzheim with live music and DJ
Kloster Marienthal is located in the Walporzheim district of Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler and is one of the most impressive historical sites in the Ahr Valley. The medieval monastery complex with its walls, cloisters, and garden provides a unique backdrop for open-air events. Throughout its history, the monastery has served various purposes and is now a venue where wine, culture, and history converge.
The KORKENFREI wine party is a modern format by the Mayschoß-Altenahr wine cooperative, combining Ahr wine with an urban, relaxed atmosphere. Unlike traditional annual presentations, the focus here is not on analytical tasting, but on convivial wine enjoyment in a party setting with music and dancing.
The band Decoy provides the musical entertainment with a set of cover songs and original pieces designed to get the party guests in the mood. Afterward, DJ PayTric takes over, playing House, Pop, and Dance music until the party winds down in the early morning hours.
The Mayschoß-Altenahr wine cooperative — founded in 1868, making it the oldest wine cooperative in the world — presents its Pinot Noir, Frühburgunder, Portugieser, and white wines at the party. Specialties such as wine cocktails and wine punch complement the offerings. Small dishes from Ahr Valley cuisine are available for refreshment.
Walporzheim is one of the most famous wine villages in the Ahr Valley, located on the Ahr Valley Red Wine Route. Viticulture has shaped the landscape and economy here for centuries, and after the severe damage from the 2021 Ahr flood, the village has been gradually rebuilt. The KORKENFREI wine party is part of this resurgence, attracting guests from the Ahr Valley, the Rhineland, and beyond.
