Premiere of the Pop/Indie/Rock/EDM festival on the Schirrhof — Sound of your summer in the Lower Rhine mining heritage
The klangrevier festival is the largest new music festival founded in 2026 in the Wesel district of the Lower Rhine. The organizer is the specially founded association KlangRevier Kamp-Lintfort e.V. The premiere is on Saturday, September 12, 2026, on the Schirrhof Kamp-Lintfort — a historic industrial site of the former mine, connecting the city's industrial past with the present-day festival.
The festival presents a one-day program of Pop, Indie, Rock, and EDM with bands and artists from the region and all of Germany. First confirmed acts:
Further acts will be confirmed by the association during the summer of 2026 — the festival newsletter and the website klangrevier.de will provide information on the complete stage lineup.
The Schirrhof is one of the characteristic industrial monuments in Kamp-Lintfort — a structure from the era of hard coal mining, which today offers a special atmosphere as a culturally and commercially repurposed area. Industrial history and the present merge here in a unique way — a rare setting for the Lower Rhine festival landscape, which the klangrevier festival consciously utilizes.
The festival explicitly positions itself as accessible:
This pricing structure makes the festival attractive for families and supports the concept of a city festival that invites the entire population of Kamp-Lintfort.
The festival concept includes:
Kamp-Lintfort is a medium-sized city with around 40,000 inhabitants in the Wesel district (North Rhine-Westphalia), located on the left bank of the Lower Rhine between Moers and Wesel. Characterized by hard coal mining (colliery Friedrich Heinrich active until 2012), the city has been undergoing a cultural and economic repositioning since the closure of mining. The Schirrhof as a festival location and the klangrevier festival are components of this cultural renewal — a new format with its premiere in 2026, aiming to put the city on the musical map of the Lower Rhine.
The klangrevier festival 2026 launches as a one-day festival on the Schirrhof Kamp-Lintfort. The event on Saturday, September 12, is the first edition of a planned regular series — the association KlangRevier Kamp-Lintfort e.V. is deliberately building a new festival in the Lower Rhine.
Further acts will be announced during the summer of 2026. The complete stage lineup will appear on the festival website klangrevier.de.
