The Kiwanis Christmas at Eutin Castle is one of Schleswig-Holstein's most traditional Advent events. The 27th edition will take place in 2026. The organizer is the Kiwanis Club Ostholstein, a non-profit association that uses this market annually to collect donations for children's and youth projects in the region.

Eutin Castle — the Eutin Courtly Ensemble as a Backdrop

For centuries, Eutin Castle was the residence of the Prince-Bishops of Lübeck and the Grand Dukes of Oldenburg. In the castle courtyard and surrounding castle wings, over 30 craftspeople and exhibitors set up their stalls — handmade gifts, arts and crafts, jewelry, ceramics, textiles, and culinary specialties. Festive lights, poinsettias, and decorated fir trees transform the venerable ambiance into a Christmas world.

Music from the Region

Musicians from local schools, the district music school, and various choirs perform on both days — Advent classics, brass choirs, and vocal ensembles provide the musical backdrop.

Active for Children: Star Workshop and Children's Program

In the Star Workshop, children can craft for free and take small gifts home. This hands-on atmosphere is a hallmark of the Eutin Castle Christmas market — the market is consciously aimed at families.

Mulled Wine, Sausages, Waffles, Cake Buffet

The gastronomic offerings are extensive: mulled wine, hot chocolate, regional sausages, waffles, and a large cake buffet. This also helps the charitable mission — as the sales are organized by the Kiwanis Club.

100 Percent for Charitable Causes

Admission is free, and donations are explicitly requested. The crucial point: 100 percent of the proceeds benefit charitable causes — specifically children's and youth projects in Ostholstein.
