Annual village fair in the Bonn district of Buschdorf on the Dorfplatz – three days of rides, food, and club life at the beginning of September
The Kirmes Buschdorf is one of those district festivals that show the true face of a large city: not the tourist main axis with the Beethoven House and Bundeshaus, but the Bonn of clubs, districts, and fair associations. Buschdorf is located in the north of Bonn, almost on the city border to the Vorgebirge region. The village center around the Catholic Church of St. Petrus has been well-preserved – and it is precisely here that the Buschdorf Kirmes takes place every September.
The Kirmes Buschdorf 2026 runs from Friday, September 4th to Sunday, September 6th, 2026, at the Dorfplatz Buschdorf in Bonn-Nord. Three days of festival with a classic fair program.
The organizer is the Ortsfestausschuss Buschdorf e.V. (OFA), a working group explicitly founded for the organization of district festivals. The OFA coordinates several events per year:
The OFA sees itself as politically and religiously neutral and works closely with sponsors and clubs from Buschdorf to preserve traditions.
Buschdorf is a district in the north of Bonn, in the Bonn district. With just under 7,000 inhabitants, it is significantly smaller than the inner-city districts, but it has a distinct character: predominantly Catholic, with a well-preserved village center, its own club life, and its own identity as an “own village community” within the large city of Bonn. Buschdorf was only incorporated into Bonn in 1969 and has retained its village structure.
Bonn, with around 330,000 inhabitants, is the former capital of Germany, now a federal city and seat of several UN organizations. While the city center is characterized by international conferences and the university, the northern districts like Buschdorf live a different reality: rural, club-oriented, and traditional. The Kirmes Buschdorf is an expression of this other Bonn.
The 2026 edition of the Kirmes Buschdorf follows the established three-day tradition. The organizer is the Ortsfestausschuss Buschdorf e.V.
