Traditional four-day town district Kirmes in the Baumbach district with concerts, Games without Borders, festival service, and Kirmes parade
The Kirmes Baumbach in the Baumbach district of the twin town Ransbach-Baumbach is one of the firmly established summer Volksfests in the Kannenbäckerland. For four days, it combines traditional customs with live music and a family program.
In 2026, the Kirmes will run from Friday, July 17th to Monday, July 20th. The program ranges from the opening evening with Fohr Five to the classic Games without Borders competition and the festival service with barrel tapping, to the Monday morning pint and the grand Kirmes handover with DJ Joco.
The twin town of Ransbach-Baumbach in the Westerwaldkreis consists of two historically independent districts, each of which cultivates its own traditions. The Kirmes Baumbach is the identity-forming festival of the eastern district and is organized with great volunteer commitment from local clubs.
Ransbach-Baumbach is located in the heart of the Kannenbäckerland, Germany's traditional ceramics center, built on centuries-old clay deposits. The region's artisanal self-image also shapes its festival culture — clubs, craft businesses, and families are closely connected, and festivals like the Kirmes Baumbach are true community events.
The four-day Kirmes follows a proven structure: Kick-off on Friday evening with live music (in 2026, the cover band Fohr Five), family day on Saturday with the traditional Games without Borders competition, festival service and barrel tapping on Saturday evening, followed by a second concert (Lift Off). Sunday is dedicated to afternoon entertainment and the traditional Kirmes parade. Monday concludes with a morning pint and the festive Kirmes handover.
The Saturday competition "Games without Borders" is one of the hallmarks of the Baumbach Kirmes. Clubs and groups compete against each other in fun, often quirky games — a program item that spans generations and always ensures a lively atmosphere.
The Monday morning pint with the Ransbach-Baumbach Music Association is one of the most convivial moments of the Kirmes. The local brass band provides the musical accompaniment while the festival gathering comes together in a relaxed atmosphere. In the evening, the outgoing Kirmes committee hands over its responsibility to the next generation — accompanied by DJ Joco.
The Kirmes Baumbach 2026 runs from Friday, July 17th to Monday, July 20th on the festival grounds in the Baumbach district. Kick-off on Friday evening from 7:00 PM with the cover band Fohr Five. On Saturday, the program starts at 2:00 PM with Games without Borders, followed in the evening by the festival service and barrel tapping at 6:00 PM, and the concert by Lift Off from 9:00 PM. Sunday offers entertainment from 12:00 PM and the traditional Kirmes parade at 5:00 PM. Monday concludes with a morning pint from 11:00 AM with the Ransbach-Baumbach Music Association and the Kirmes handover at 8:00 PM with DJ Joco.
The 2026 program has been officially confirmed by the town of Ransbach-Baumbach. The four-day town district Kirmes follows the traditional Westerwald structure with concerts on Friday and Saturday, a religious festival service, Games without Borders for the clubs, a Kirmes parade on Sunday, and a festive conclusion on Monday evening.
