Overview

The Kirchweih Schwärzelbach 2025 was celebrated on the last weekend of September, as in previous years. Saturday evening was dedicated to the Kirmesspruch and the dance party in the festival tent; Sunday morning featured the traditional Weißwurstfrühstück with coffee and cake. The Schwärzelbach festival committee thus maintained the proven Lower Franconian Kerwa format.

The 2025 edition followed the classic pattern: Kirmesspruch on the eve, dancing, and breakfast on Sunday. The festival committee of the Schwärzelbach district has been upholding this tradition for decades, thereby preserving a piece of Lower Franconian cultural heritage on the edge of the Rhön.

The municipality of Wartmannsroth — with a total of seven districts, all with their own Kerwa tradition — sees itself as a preserver of district cultural heritage. Schwärzelbach is one of these districts that celebrates its Kirchweih annually despite its small population.
