Overview

The Rügland Kirchweih 2025 was celebrated from August 15th to 17th. It kicked off on Friday evening at 6 PM with the raising of the Kirchweih tree, followed at 7:30 PM by the beer tapping with live music from Musikfreunde Unternbibert. Sunday featured the festive church service in St. Margaret's Church, the grand marksmen's parade at 5:30 PM, and at 6:30 PM, the crowning of the marksmen's and citizens' king in the marquee.

The 2025 Kirchweih in Rügland followed the established three-day structure. Friday, August 15, 2025: At 6 PM, the Kirchweih lads erected the Kirchweih tree on the festival grounds. At 7:30 PM, the beer was tapped, and Musikfreunde Unternbibert played for dancing. Saturday focused on the marquee program and the popular castle tours — former mayor Rudi Tischer guided groups through the late 16th-century moated castle.

Sunday, August 17, 2025: Festive church service in St. Margaret's Church in the morning, followed by a "Frühschoppen" (morning pint) and showman's program in the afternoon. At 5:30 PM, the grand marksmen's parade moved through the village, and at 6:30 PM, the marksmen's king and citizens' king were crowned in the marquee — the traditional highlight of the Rügland Kerwa, organized by the Rügland Sports Club with support from Dorn Brewery and Gasthaus Fetz.
