Overview

In 2025, the Kirchweih in Fellen was celebrated according to the traditional customs. The youngest Plotzburschen of the year fetched the Kirchweih on Herrenberg on Kirchweih Sunday, the Kirbma was erected next to the inn, the music band paraded through the village on Kirchweih Monday, and on Sunday and Monday evenings, Plotzburschen and Plotzschicksen danced in the Haas hall.

The Felliner Kirchweih 2025 followed the same sequence of events it has been known for over generations. On Kirchweih Sunday, the Plotzburschen, dressed in white linen shirts and carrying pitchforks, marched to the Herrenberg, speared the Kirchweih cakes there, and brought them back to the village accompanied by music. The Kirbma—a decorated spruce with a wreath and colorful ribbons—stood next to the inn, where the Kirchweih dance in the Haas hall took place in the evening.

On Kirchweih Monday, the music band, together with the Plotzburschen, went from house to house, playing tunes and collecting money for the musicians. Embedded in the customs of the Sinngrund, the Felliner Kerwa is a living demonstrative custom documented as a cultural asset of the region by the Burgsinn administrative community, the Sinngrundallianz, and fraenkische-kirchweih.de.
