Edition 2025 — Kirwa Diebach
The Diebach Kirchweih 2025 took place, as every year, on the weekend around All Saints' Day. Kirwabaum, Franconian dances, Kirchweih beer, and Franconian specialties characterized the traditional village festival in the Middle Franconian municipality of Diebach in the Ansbach district. A Kirwa with an All Saints' Day character, giving it a special autumnal flair.
The 2025 Kirwa followed, as always, the classic Franconian Kirwa sequence: raising of the Kirwabaum, festive mass for All Saints' Day, traditional dances by the young men and women, and a festive evening in the inn. Diebach thus keeps alive one of the old Franconian folk traditions that is re-enacted annually in many villages in the region.
The connection with All Saints' Day – a holiday celebrated in Catholic regions with cemetery visits and solemn remembrance – gives the Diebach Kirwa a special touch: on the day of solemn commemoration, the festival culminates in joy and conviviality in the evening.
