The 31st edition of "Kino auf der Burg" ran in late July/early August 2025 in the medieval castle courtyard of Esslingen. Eleven film nights with a curated program of international and German films, like every year, attracted thousands of visitors to one of Germany's most beautiful open-air cinemas.

The 31st edition of "Kino auf der Burg" in 2025 once again confirmed the top ranking of this Esslingen open-air cinema. Eleven film nights in the medieval castle courtyard, a program of current box-office hits and arthouse films, diverse international catering, and the unique panoramic atmosphere above Esslingen's old town made the festival a summer highlight of the Stuttgart cultural region in 2025 as well.

The Kommunales Kino Esslingen organized the event as every year with approx. 3,500 volunteer hours — a true community event with professional curation standards.
