Overview

The Kengster Kerwa 2025 celebrated four days around the sports field in Ködnitz. As every year, Franconian customs were at the center: erecting the Kerwabaum, festival tent with live music, festival parade, and the traditional Hausensingen on Monday with the Ortsburschen.

Review of Kerwa 2025

From August 29 to September 2, 2025, Ködnitz celebrated its Kengster Kerwa. TSV Ködnitz and the Ortsburschen invited guests to a classic program with a festival tent, a beach party on Friday, and a grand dance evening on Saturday. On Sunday, the Kerwa parade with the Burghaig music club marched through the village, before the Krenfleischessen and the musical Hausensingen traditionally concluded the Kerwa on Monday.

Culinary-wise, as always, it was Franconian: Krenfleisch, Sauerbraten, Schnitzel, Käsespätzle, and fallow deer ragout – accompanied by beer from Upper Franconian breweries. The Kerwa once again confirmed its reputation as one of the liveliest village festivals in the Kulmbach district.
