Its Own Stage at the Big City Festival
The Kaiserslautern Altstadtfest (July 3rd to 5th, 2026) is the largest multi-day city festival in the West Palatinate capital, with eight stages. One of these stages is managed by the local radio station Antenne Kaiserslautern and operates under its own brand name: the Antenne stage with its own lineup, its own presenters, and its own program concept. The connection between the local station and the city festival is a proven constellation that has been working for years.
Curated Lineup
The lineup of the Antenne stage differs from the program of the other Altstadtfest stages. While the other stages typically focus on typical city festival formats (brass music, cover bands, traditional stage music), Antenne brings current pop and rock bands, occasionally DJ sets, and show formats to the stage. The spectrum ranges from established regional cover bands and newcomers from the Palatinate indie scene to DJ sets by Antenne's in-house presenters, who play between live acts or as transition music.
Antenne Kaiserslautern as a Local Radio Station
For over two decades, Antenne Kaiserslautern has been the most important private local radio station in the city and the West Palatinate. With a program of current pop music, local news, traffic service, and comedy formats, the station reaches a broad audience, with a focus on the 14 to 49 age group. The Antenne stage at the Altstadtfest is a conscious extension of the station's experience into the physical world – listeners can experience live presenters there, connect events with the program, and link the station's branding directly with live music.
Young Audience at the Altstadtfest
The Antenne stage deliberately targets the younger Altstadtfest audience. While the medieval market and brass music stages often attract older visitors, the Antenne stage is the central meeting point for teenagers and young adults on the festival grounds. The 2026 lineup will be published in early summer on antenne-kl.de.
