Overview

No football World Cup took place in 2025. During this phase, Kaiserbäder Tourismus Service GmbH prepared the public viewing infrastructure for the 2026 World Cup year. The predecessor event ran during UEFA Euro 2024 with a similar format and legitimized the model.

In 2025, there was no major international football tournament at the club level — the FIFA World Cup 2026 was scheduled to begin the following year. Kaiserbäder Tourismus Service GmbH used 2025 to further develop the public viewing format on the event beach technically and conceptually: LED screen expansion, grandstand configuration, and expert acquisition characterized the preparation phase.

The experience gained from the beach public viewing during UEFA Euro 2024 — where thousands of fans already followed the games on Heringsdorf beach — formed the basis for the optimized 2026 World Cup edition. The combination of beach scenery, LED technology, and free access established Heringsdorf as one of Germany's most unusual public viewing locations.
