The Kaiserbäder Beach Tennis Tour is the central event for beach tennis in Northern Germany. The venue is the Sportstrand Ahlbeck, a generously developed beach section with sand courts and a spectator area, located directly between beach access points 1Y and 1Z on Dünenstraße. Ahlbeck is part of the municipality Ostseebad Heringsdorf in the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald, in the far east of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

What is Beach Tennis?

Beach Tennis is a relatively young sport that combines tennis, beach volleyball, and badminton:

• Playing field the size of a beach volleyball court with sand
• Net at tennis height
• Serving and stroke technique similar to tennis
• Athletic jumps and volleys from the sand
• Played in doubles, mixed, or singles

Ahlbeck's sports beach was specifically developed for active beach use – with sand courts for beach volleyball, beach tennis, beach soccer, and stand-up paddleboarding. During the tour, the courts overlooking the Baltic Sea create a spectacular competition backdrop. Beach parties after the professional tournaments bring players and spectators together on the beach.
