Overview

In 2025, the annual foot pilgrimage from Sünching to Altötting also took place over two days to the holy site. As since 1874 – with the exception of the Corona break in 2020/2021 – participants walked, prayed, and sang for about 90 kilometers through Lower Bavaria to the Chapel of Grace in Altötting.

The 2025 edition continued the unbroken tradition of the Sünching foot pilgrimage to Altötting. Over two days, the route led from Sünching in stages through Lower Bavaria to the Kapellplatz in Altötting, where the pilgrimage arrived on Sunday morning with a solemn procession.

As every year, the Association of Altötting Foot Pilgrims organized the pilgrimage; no registration was required. Prayer, singing, and the communal act of pilgrimage marked the way to the Black Madonna in the Chapel of Grace in Altötting.

Programme

Foot pilgrimage Sünching–Altötting 2025 in two daily stages covering about 90 km through Lower Bavaria. Departure early Saturday morning from Sünching, day's end in Massing; on Sunday, continuation to the solemn procession at Kapellplatz Altötting. Organizer: Altöttinger Fußwallfahrer. No registration required.
