In September 2025, an initial intermediate city festival took place as part of Borken's jubilee year — serving as a bridge between the kick-off with the festival parade in July 2025 and the grand finale city festival in 2026. A colorful program at various event locations, live music with 'Stadt Beats Borken', and a Sunday with open shops characterized the weekend.
The 2025 intermediate city festival helped Borken get into the spirit for the grand finale in 2026. The city and its citizens practiced the festive culture, and many community projects were already presented. The response was positive and led to the expansion of the 2026 format to four days.
