25 Years of the Bavarian Music Academy

The Bavarian Music Academy Schloss Alteglofsheim was officially opened on September 22, 2000. In 2026, it celebrates its 25th anniversary – under the motto "25+1 Years" due to the counting including the opening year. The academy is one of the important centers for further education and encounters for music in Bavaria, housed in a magnificent baroque castle.

Schloss Alteglofsheim

Schloss Alteglofsheim, south of Regensburg, is one of the most significant baroque castles in the Upper Palatinate. With its stucco ceilings, the castle courtyard, and the extensive castle park, it offers an extraordinary backdrop for the anniversary festival.

A Festival for Everyone

The anniversary festival is deliberately designed to be broad: castle tours for adults and children, a musical children's program at the Rondell in the park, and a musical and culinary festival for adults. The day begins with a spiritual blessing and a traditional Weißwurst breakfast and extends through world music to the grand evening concert by the Danube Big Band.

Music from Around the World

The program reflects the academy's international profile: Mannheim singer Fatma2Soul with her band, Mongolian musician Enkhjargal Dandarvaanchig, the children's program "Epi & Friends", and concluding with the Danube Big Band under Hans Heiner Bettinger, performing hits by ABBA, TOTO, and Queen.

Free Admission

The entire anniversary festival is accessible free of charge – an invitation to the region to get to know the castle, the park, and the work of the music academy.
