27th Johanniskirmes on Johannisplatz with showmen, festival host, and opening fireworks
Bad Sobernheim is located in the valley of the middle Nahe river and is a recognized Kneipp spa town. The town combines a historically grown city center with modern spa infrastructure and an active citizenry. The Johanniskirmes on Johannisplatz is one of the important folk festivals that shape Bad Sobernheim's festival year.
With the 2026 edition, the fair enters its 27th year, making it one of the town's established festivals. Over the years, it has proven to be a reliable fixture in the Bad Sobernheim event calendar. The 27th edition benefits from well-rehearsed organization and a loyal audience.
The showmen offer a classic fair experience: carousels and small rides for children, shooting galleries, skill games, food stalls with bratwurst, fries, and sweets, as well as stalls selling gingerbread hearts, cotton candy, and fair specialties. With 20 to 25 attractions, the fair is manageable but diverse.
The festival host for 2026 is Justin Braun, who will be responsible for catering in the festival tent. The festival host ensures the provision of drinks, food, and a stage program in the tent. On festival evenings, the tent is the musical and social center of the fair.
The Johanniskirmes begins with opening fireworks. Fair Monday, with its morning pint (Frühschoppen), is the traditional closing day, where Bad Sobernheim's clubs and regular guests come together and wind down the festival in a convivial atmosphere.
The 27th edition of the Johanniskirmes benefits from the commitment of the new festival host Justin Braun, who will be responsible for catering in the festival tent. Four days of festival with classic fair attractions in a well-rehearsed organization.
The exact program for 2026, including the band lineup in the tent, will be published by the organizer in early summer. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years.
