Overview

At the Jazzweekend Kallmünz 2025 — the rural antenna of the 44th Bavarian Jazzweekend — five historic venues in the market town (CALLM, Schloss Raitenbuch, Bürstenbinder, among others) were transformed into an intimate stage landscape for the entire weekend. Hard Bop, Modern Jazz, Bossa Nova, and crossover projects were on the program, which ran parallel to the over 14 stages in Regensburg and was accessible via a free shuttle bus.

The second edition in Kallmünz took place from July 11 to 13, 2025. The opening on Friday evening featured the JBQ with baritone saxophonist Jonas Brinckmann at CALLM with a tribute to the Great American Songbook, followed by the RatisBone Connection bridging Hard Bop and Modern Jazz.

On Saturday evening, Nujakasha performed at Schloss Raitenbuch — a sextet blending hip-hop, jazz, and soul with violin and synthesizer. Sunday opened at 11:00 AM with the brunch concert Colors Of Brazil at Bürstenbinder, featuring Bossa Nova, Chorinho, and Afro rhythms. The weekend was part of the 44th Bavarian Jazzweekend, which, with around 110 ensembles, forms the largest free-admission jazz festival in Southern Germany.
