Jazz on the Baltic Coast
The Jazz we can festival is one of the most important jazz events in Northern Germany on the Baltic coast. The venues are two unusual and atmospheric locations in Heringsdorf: the spacious Goethepark right in the center of the seaside resort, and the historic Heringsdorf train station, whose listed station hall is acoustically perfect for jazz sessions.
Motto Swing to Salsa
The festival works with a new motto every year. In 2026, it is » Swing to Salsa « – a spectrum from classic swing, bebop, and modern jazz to Latin American salsa and Latin jazz sounds. This stylistic breadth attracts a diverse audience: jazz lovers from northern and central Germany, holidaymakers, and locals from the Vorpommern-Greifswald district.
International Line-up
Soloists and bands from Germany and neighboring Poland fill the stage. The program includes:
- The German Masters of Guitar with the opening picnic concert
- The Polish children's and youth band Wood & Brass Band
- Mayelis Guyat & Band with Salsa and Jazz
- Further guest musicians and workshops
Goethepark and Train Station as Venues
The festival deliberately uses its venues:
- Goethepark: Picnic concert on Friday afternoon, open-air atmosphere with blankets on the lawn
- Heringsdorf Train Station: Concert evenings with a stage in the historic station hall, later salsa and Latin programs
- Sunday Morning Brew: musical brunch format at the train station
This combination of park and train station gives Jazz we can a unique character – informal, culturally historically rooted, and at a high musical level.
