Overview

The second edition of the Jazz City Bilk Festival in May 2025 ran for five days again in Düsseldorf-Bilk. Over 30 events were spread across around 12 locations, the Pub Rally proved to be a crowd-puller, and the genre-diverse program attracted visitors from Düsseldorf, Cologne, Wuppertal, and Krefeld to Bilk.

The second edition in 2025 built on the successful premiere in 2024. Once again, the venues Jazz-Schmiede, Bürgersaal, Metropol cinema, Stage 47, as well as several Bilk churches, pubs, and squares transformed into a continuous festival stage. Latin, flamenco, classical jazz, and experimental improvisation sessions alternated over the five days.

The Bilker Pub Rally was again the most surprising format in 2025 — free concerts throughout Bilk's local scene attracted a young audience that wouldn't normally afford a festival pass. The festival has thus definitively established itself as an important part of Düsseldorf's cultural calendar.
