Japanmarkt Berlin – 22nd Cherry Blossom Festival

In 2025, Japanmarkt Berlin once again drew thousands of visitors to Festsaal Kreuzberg. The established concept – a designer market during the day, a performance program featuring traditional Japanese arts, workshops in Origami and calligraphy, and Japanese street food – was enhanced with current highlights. As in previous years, Samurai demonstrations, Taiko drumming, and a Kimono show were the central performance highlights.

Over two decades, the event has evolved into a firm Berlin spring tradition and is now one of the largest public cultural events for the Japanese diaspora in Germany. In 2025, many Berliners used the festival to discover Japanese everyday and high culture in a relaxed atmosphere – a format that keeps the Japanese-German urban dialogue in Berlin vibrant.
