Overview

The 2nd edition of is'kult brought the summer festival back to Iserlohn city centre in 2025: three days of open-air stage, programme items spread between Schillerplatz, Parktheater, and Oberste Stadtkirche, featuring artists from partner cities Auchel, Nyíregyháza, and Chorzów. At that time, there was no festival ticket yet — the format was evaluated in 2025 and further developed for 2026.

In 2025, is'kult consolidated its profile as a city festival that involves the entire city centre. The open-air stage in the centre was a meeting point for families; in the evenings, cover bands and electronic acts took over. The contributions from the European partner cities gave the festival its international flair and underscored the aim of the Förderverein Kulturszene Iserlohn to bring local and international scenes together.

Based on the experiences of the 2nd edition, the concept for 2026 was developed: in addition to the free open-air stage, the festival ticket was introduced to finance premium indoor events and better support cultural creators.
