Edition 2025 — ISFF Detmold
The 21st edition of ISFF Detmold 2025 confirmed the festival's status as North Rhine-Westphalia's premier short film event. With nearly 3,000 submissions from over 80 countries, the program offered a cross-section of international short filmmaking — from political documentaries to avant-garde animation.
The 2025 edition solidified the festival's reputation as a highly curated event with consistently free admission. The Stadthalle, Kaiserhof+, and Café Cup (as an open-air cinema) were well-attended throughout the six days.
Programme
Six days of short film screenings across four genres at three venues. Accompanying events included workshops, concerts, and multimedia exhibitions.
