Overview

The IRONMAN Hamburg 2025 — the 8th edition — took place in early June. Mass start at Jungfernstieg, bike course including Köhlbrandbrücke and Bergedorf, marathon along the Alster, finish line on Rathausmarkt. Thousands of athletes from around the world completed the 225-kilometer long distance into the Hamburg summer.

The 2025 edition was the 8th IRONMAN Hamburg since its premiere in 2017. The event has since become one of Europe's most popular triathlon events. Unlike in 2026, the bike course still went through Bergedorf — the course will be modified for the 2026 edition.

Hamburg's city center transformed into an urban competition area for one day. The Alster lake as the swimming backdrop, the Köhlbrandbrücke bridge as a striking cycling landmark, and Rathausmarkt square as the finish line make the IRONMAN Hamburg a visually unique event. Amateur athletes and professionals ran side-by-side on the same marathon course — a mix characteristic of the IRONMAN format.
