The 2025 Premiere

The Irisseefest was celebrated for the first time in 2025 — deliberately scheduled for St. John's Day (June 21). The Irisseeverein e.V., which has been maintaining the lake for years, wanted to create a low-threshold meeting point for the community with the festival and, at the same time, draw attention to the work being done at the lake.

Birth of a Tradition

The format consisted of an evening event with a light show, live music, and culinary stalls around the lake. The positive reception encouraged the club to repeat the festival in 2026 — thus began the story of a small, location-specific summer tradition in Michendorf.
