Annual exhibition at Kunstforum Ingelheim – James McNeill Whistler and Hiroyuki Masuyama
The International Days Ingelheim are one of the most traditional exhibition series in Rhineland-Palatinate. Since 1959, the Kunstforum Ingelheim – supported and funded by the pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim – has dedicated a major annual exhibition to an international art theme each year. The 2026 exhibition runs from April 26 to July 5, 2026 in the Altes Rathaus Ingelheim.
The 2026 exhibition focuses on two artists:
The exhibition features around 125 works by both artists: etchings and lithographs by Whistler, and large-format photographs by Masuyama. The dialogue makes historical and contemporary image-making processes tangible.
The event is supported and funded by the pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim, which has its headquarters in the city. It has been the company's most important cultural initiative since 1959. The International Days are considered a flagship for the connection between business and art in Germany.
The venue is the Altes Rathaus (Old Town Hall) in Ingelheim, which is used as Kunstforum Ingelheim after extensive renovation. The historic building offers a special atmosphere for the annual exhibition.
Accompanying the exhibition, there will be guided tours, workshops, lectures, and the major event Day & Night of Art, which immerses the exhibition in a special atmosphere.
The International Days Ingelheim 2026 will present the exhibition "Whistler & Masuyama" from April 26 to July 5, 2026, at the Kunstforum Ingelheim – Altes Rathaus. The organizers are the International Days Ingelheim, supported by Boehringer Ingelheim.
