Overview
The 33rd edition of the International Samba Festival Coburg was celebrated in July 2025 with three days of carnival atmosphere in the city center. Around 100 international Samba bands, Capoeira, and dance groups performed on stages at the Market Square, Castle Square, and Anger. The highlight remained the Samba parade on Saturday — one of Bavaria's largest open-air events.
In 2025, the Samba Festival once again attracted around 180,000 visitors to Coburg's old town, confirming its reputation as the world's second-largest Samba festival after Rio de Janeiro. For three days, the usual format with parallel stages, workshops, and a Brazilian market was held.
The Samba parade on Saturday afternoon, featuring hundreds of drummers and dancers in spectacular costumes, remained one of the most visually impressive moments of the Bavarian festival summer 2025.
