Spiekeroog is one of the quietest islands in East Frisia – and it's precisely for this reason that the island variety show in the Kurgarten unfolds a special magic. When the fairy lights are switched on in the evening, the wind rustles through the trees, and the audience takes their seats closely packed in a semicircle, a show begins that works with the classic elements of variety and circus: without intrusive technology, but with the highest level of physical artistry and lovingly staged transitions.

Artists 2026

In 2026, Circus Tausendtraum once again relies on an international ensemble. Among them are:

• Rainer Stanke – High bar and magic comedy in the best tradition of German variety shows
• Cecilia Hedlund – Handstand acrobatics and LED hula hoop, whose glowing hoops set the summer evening in motion
• Brian O'Gott – Cabaret musician with pointed songs oscillating between charm and subtle nuances
• Rebecca Hülsmann – Aerial silks acrobatics, weightless and elegant between sky and stage

Atmosphere and Flow

The performance lasts about two hours with an intermission. The setup is family-friendly; the individual acts are timed so that even younger guests can remain focused. Live accompaniment creates atmosphere between acts, and the audience becomes part of the staging: you sit right in the middle of the Kurgarten, smell the salty island air, and experience acrobatics in unusually intimate proximity.

Tradition and Organizer

Behind the series is Circus Tausendtraum, which has been shaping the family program in Spiekeroog's Kurpark for many years. With storytelling, play festivals, and acrobatics workshops, the circus has long been a part of the island summer – the island variety show is its evening flagship and one of the few events on Spiekeroog that explicitly appeals to older children, teenagers, and adults.
