Overview

The Husum Crocus Blossom Festival 2025 once again gathered thousands of visitors in the castle park, which at this time shines in a violet carpet of four million crocuses. The Crocus Blossom Queen was crowned as usual on Saturday at 11 AM on the steps of the Old Town Hall, an arts and crafts market in the castle courtyard and a culinary mile in the city center rounded off the weekend.

2025 Review

The 2025 Crocus Blossom Festival proceeded as usual: crowning of the new queen on Saturday, arts and crafts market in the castle courtyard, culinary mile in Großstraße, and Sunday shopping on the second day. Four million crocuses were in full bloom as every year, bathing the castle park in the unusual violet that makes Husum the "Mauveville" every spring.

The costumed castle garden tours with the "last court gardener" were once again fully booked — the myth that the crocuses were originally planted by monks for saffron production fascinates the audience anew every year.
