Berlin's largest designer Christmas market at CANK Neukölln
Holy Shit Shopping has been a fixture in Berlin's pre-Christmas event calendar since 2004 – and the alternative counter-model to classic Christmas markets. On two floors, CANK (the former C&A building on Karl-Marx-Straße in Neukölln) transforms into an urban design department store on the first weekend of Advent, featuring over 300 selected designers, artists, and manufacturers from Berlin and across Europe.
At the stalls, you'll find a curated mix of fashion, jewelry, accessories, home decor, art, photography, literature, and delicacies. "No kitsch, no junk, only quality goods" is the organizer's promise – every stall applies, and a jury selects.
Unlike a classic Christmas market, you won't find bratwurst stands or Erzgebirge wooden angels here. Instead, there are relaxed DJ sets, an open hall architecture, and a young, creative audience from Berlin – though now also many families and tourists who travel specifically for the event. Holy Shit Shopping tours four German cities each year – Frankfurt, Hamburg, Leipzig, and Berlin – with Berlin considered the largest leg.
Since 2024, CANK on Karl-Marx-Straße 95 in Berlin-Neukölln has been the market's permanent venue. The building is located directly at the Rathaus Neukölln subway station (U7) and has become a hotspot for events, pop-up stores, and markets since C&A moved out. This makes the market much better connected than its previous locations.
Holy Shit Shopping always takes place on the first weekend of Advent, i.e., late November or early December. Admission prices are set annually – tickets are available in advance, and the box office can get crowded during peak times. Traveling by U7 is also recommended, as the district is well-connected by public transport.
Holy Shit Shopping returns to Berlin on November 28 and 29, 2026, once again taking over the CANK at Karl-Marx-Straße 95 in Neukölln. Thus, the Berlin edition – as is traditional – falls on the first weekend of Advent and marks the start of the nationwide tour, which stops in four cities (Berlin, Hamburg, Leipzig, Frankfurt).
Up to 180 selected stalls are expected, offering fashion, jewelry, accessories, art, photography, literature, and culinary specialties. As in previous years, handmade quality is the focus, curated by the Holy Shit Shopping team.
Across two floors, expect DJ sets, street food stalls, drinks, mulled wine, and the typical relaxed hall atmosphere of CANK. The market is aimed at Berliners looking for gifts beyond mass-produced items, as well as design enthusiasts from home and abroad.
The complete 2026 program, including the exhibitor list and DJ lineup, will be published in the weeks leading up to the event on holyshitshopping.de. Based on previous years, the following components can be confirmed:
