Overview

In 2025, the Neufra Volunteer Fire Department also hosted its traditional Hocketse. As every year, it was a well-attended Sunday event in the small Danube Valley municipality — bratwurst, Schäufele, Maultaschen, draft beer, and homemade cakes characterized the scene. The proceeds went to the association's work.

As every year in September, the Neufra Volunteer Fire Department invited to the Hocketse in 2025. The area around the fire station was traditionally set up with wooden tables and benches, a long barbecue station, and a large cake table. The firefighters' wives had baked in the preceding days, the men took care of the grill and the bar, and the association's helpers managed the service.

The lunch with bratwurst, Schäufele, and Maultaschen, the coffee time with homemade cakes, and the evening gathering with beer and cider attracted the residents of Neufra and neighboring villages as always. The Hocketse remains one of the most important community events in the village — and a reliable source of funding for the work of the volunteer fire department.
