Overview

The 2025 edition of the Historical Castle Festival ran from September 5th to 7th at Wolfstein Castle. With a Swedish camp, market guard troop, birds of prey flight, fire spectacle, and specially brewed castle beer, the festival once again attracted thousands of visitors to the Bavarian Forest.

In 2025, the Castle Festival successfully repeated its proven format. In the forest garden next to the castle, historical groups set up their camp, craftsmen demonstrated old techniques, birds of prey demonstrations delighted families, and fire performers danced in the castle courtyard in the evening.

In recent years, the Castle Festival has grown into one of the largest historical festivals in the Bavarian Forest. The concept – time travel rather than spectacle, attention to detail rather than show – gains more followers every year.
