Historical Castle Festival Freyung – Wolfstein Castle

In 2025, the Castle Festival successfully repeated its proven format. In the forest garden next to the castle, historical groups set up their camp, craftsmen demonstrated old techniques, birds of prey demonstrations delighted families, and fire performers danced in the castle courtyard in the evening.

In recent years, the Castle Festival has grown into one of the largest historical festivals in the Bavarian Forest. The concept – time travel rather than spectacle, attention to detail rather than show – gains more followers every year.
