10th Anniversary of the Hildesheim Company Run at JoBeach with 5.5 and 9.5 kilometre routes
The Hildesheim Company Run was first held in 2017 and celebrates its tenth anniversary in 2026. In ten years, the event has grown from a small gathering into a firm fixture in Hildesheim's sports and business calendar, bringing hundreds of runners from companies, authorities, schools, and clubs to the Hohnsensee lake every year.
Company runs have established themselves over the past two decades as a blend of sports event, networking opportunity, and team-building format. Participants run for their companies or organisations, often in matching team shirts, and meet for joint activities before and after the run. The competitive aspect is less important than the shared experience and the casual exchange between companies.
Start and finish are at JoBeach, Lucienvörder Allee 1 in Hildesheim – the same area that hosts the lake festival and other summer events. The location on the Hohnsensee offers a pleasant atmosphere, plenty of space for teams, existing catering infrastructure, and routes that are mainly on gravel and natural paths – a plus for the knees and joints of amateur runners.
The run offers two distances: 5.5 kilometres for beginners and amateur runners, and 9.5 kilometres for more ambitious participants. Both routes are largely flat and lead around the Hohnsensee lake and through the adjacent green areas. The course is scenically attractive and offers a good running experience away from asphalt and road traffic.
As is common with many company runs, the after-run party is an essential part of the event. After the run, teams gather at JoBeach for food and drinks, with live music, a DJ set, and award ceremonies. Those who travelled by car should arrange carpools or taxis, as many participants extend the evening late into the night.
The Hildesheim Company Run has established itself as a positive event that combines sport, team spirit, and city life. Companies use it to motivate their staff, promote health-conscious behaviour, and provide a shared experience that strengthens cohesion. For Hildesheim as a business location, the run is a flagship event and a testament to the city's vibrant club scene.
As in previous years, the run will be professionally organised with bib collection, timing, aid stations, and award ceremonies. Registrations are made via hildesheimer-firmenlauf.de.
The after-run party is an essential part of the event, making the run a shared experience far beyond the sporting activity itself.
